GUTS is a 30-minute "action-sports" game show that aired for four seasons on Nickelodeon
from 1992 to 1995. Mike O'Malley, now famous on Yes, Dear presided as host; British American
actress Moira Quirk (often called Mo) was the referee/co-host. The show was taped in Universal
Studios Florida on Sound Stage 21, which was not part of the Nickelodeon Studios Complex but
was leased by them. The show was revived on September 15, 2008 with a family edition on
Nickelodeon entitled My Family's Got GUTS. Episodes will be produced at Universal Studios

Weekend Update:

This weekend was pretty nifty.
I watched a lot of movies that I'd been meaning to see.
Hung out with friends.
Went to the Mall.
Had breakfunch on Sunday morning with my writing partner.
Had dinner with my mom Sunday (today).
Good Weekend.

Revolutionary Road:
F*cking good movie. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet were mesmerizing in this film.
It was intensely emotional and raw. When they fought I felt like one of their children,
listening to them scream and destroy each other with tears welling in my eyes.
It's the mainstream equivalent to Baby Boy set in the 1950's---sike. It's good as hell though.

The Secret Life of Bees:
made me cry.
twice.
I don't cry.
period.
movies rarely make me cry.
this one did.

I kinda miss cassettes. There was something about the way they felt.

This CHARMING MIXTAPE
Earlier I was kinda disappointed in my current playlist. Then like a meteor this mixtape slammed into my bedroom window destroying most of my personal belongings, shattering my world and giving me a fresh start on life...Ok maybe that didn't happen but THIS MIXTAPE is so f*cking crazy. You want to know how I know it's good. Well, it's 1:47 a.m. and I have work tomorrow. My sole reason for staying up is to listen to this entire mixtape. I want to be cognizant and fully engaged in this exhilarating listening experience. Theophilus London, I must admit I slept on him for some months now. I'm kicking myself in the ass because a few weeks ago I was desperately looking for music just like this and I gave up on my search. It's electric & savage but soft and milky @ the same time. It's hip but not quite ster, it's hop but no where near pop. I think it'll be the soundtrack for the next three weeks of my life. If you don't have this mixtape stashed somewhere download it above.
Check out Theophilus London on Myspace & Vimeo.
My track of choice is definitely: AQUAMILITA (& COLD PILLOW)

NEW MUSIC: U dissappoint ME.

Photobucket
So I've listened to The Dream - Love VS Money & Keri Hilson - In a Perfect World and I'm not impressed. The Dream's album is basically an alternate version of Love/Hate (including the innovative album title). Don't get me wrong, I like the music! It's just that I anticipated a certain mystique, a little musical magic and all I got was cheap parlor tricks. "Right Side of Your Brain" is my favorite song, by far. Overall the album isn't bad. If you're not familiar with Dream, definitely check it out. There are lot of top 20 hits on it. It's very very mainstream & "radio worthy" and reminiscent of his debut . I got a few flashes of deja vu during a few tracks. Since Dream has distinctive sound (his use of certain sounds and drums) at some points it sounded like I was listening to a slightly different version of a song I've heard before. I give it a C+.

Keri Hilson's album is hard to judge. From the top it's not my taste. I'm not a huge fan of the hip-hop/ R&B hybrids. I grew up on the stuff and after so many years it gets exhausting. Keri Hilson is mega talented and skilled with the pen. This album didn't supremely disappoint me but it didn't knock me down. I like "Energy", "Slow Dance", "Make Love", and "Knock You Down". The rest of the record just did not move me. One song that is particularly wretched is "Get Your Money Up" featuring Trina & Keyshia Cole. It immediately gave me the perma-stank face. It's a club beat paired with a slew of assorted urban colloquial phrases (that don't translate to anything in particular I guess they thought it sounded good? *shrugs*). The only thing I appreciate is that it's called "Get Your Money Up" and not "Get Ya Money Up" because the later would have been the straw. I think the production she used overpowers her lyrics and vocals . I give it a C.

so Wild.
