We Salute:Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes

(bio taken directly from Wikipedia)

Travis McCoy (born August 5, 1981) is the lead vocalist of the alternative hip-hop group Gym Class Heroes. He grew up in Geneva, New York in a mixed race household. His father is black and his mother is white. He is 6'5".

He made his MTV debut in the summer of 2002, as he appeared on stage at the beach house on a standard nation-wide MC Battle that was held on the MTV show Direct Effect.[1]

Travis also has a side-project called Bernie Allen. The Bernie Allen's only album titled Who is... was produced by Sie-1 and released prior to The Papercut Chronicles. Occasionally, Gym Class Heroes will play the Bernie Allen song Catapult Complex live.

Travis' most recent side project (active as of December 2007) is Tequila Mockingbird. Also in the band is Nick Scimeca, who worked for Clandestine Industries (a clothing line by Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz) and is responsible for the signing of Gym Class Heroes to Decaydance Records. Travis has posted several demos from the band on his blog and promises an EP/album early this year. [1]

I'm listening to GCH and thought I'd salute Trav, cause he's a big deal. Here's him and Pete.

What next?
