FAME KILLS TOUR story line...

Photobucket
"Gaga says they will use a new stage that stretches from one side of the arena to the
other - "imagine an in-the-round experience, but larger," Gaga said.

While she was typically coy about revealing too many details about the tour,
she did say that she and West would "spend a lot of time onstage together."

Gaga also provided a look inside the notion behind the show - and, for fans of
the flamboyantly bizarre singer, the high-concept show sounds as though it will
be unlikely to disappoint.

"The storyline is that Kanye is on one end of the stage and I'm on the other,
and the whole show, we are trying to get to where each other is," she said. "
I want something that he has, which is the fame, and he wants something that
I have, which is home, and my humble beginnings. So we battle each other throughout
the entire performance to steal each other's spaces."

"So I'm essentially on a quest to kill Kanye West to steal his fame."

Not that she really needs it."

Anticipation for "Where the Wild Things Are,"

the release of its soundtrack, available exclusively on

Her BIO via MYSPACE:
I play guitar, I sing and I write, all three make me exceptionally happy.... I enjoy my own space and spend a lot of my time daydreaming..

It always makes me feel slightly uneasy when people ask me what my songs are about. If it's not blindingly obvious, is it not better to interpret from them what you need or want? I personally find this is when I feel most connected to an artist.

OK, so I’m currently on my busking tour of the UK – going to beautiful and strange places – going anywhere, and playing. It’s what I love to do. All of this is being filmed and posted on my new site www.guerrillabusker.com! Please check it out. I started off in London then moved south (Brighton, Portsmouth etc.) and I’ve just been doing some of the North – went to this year’s Edinburgh Festival which was amazing fun – what a great city. If anyone has any suggestions of towns/landmarks that you think I should play, feel free to get in touch via GuerrillaBusker.com.

I'm currently coming to the end of recording my first album – it’s going to be out very soon. We’re doing a digital release and a beautiful, special album – a whole new concept in albums… but I probably shouldn’t be talking about this yet! The album’s working title is ‘Stories From The Self Obsessed’. Am I obsessed with myself? No, but I am obsessed with making music.

If you haven’t heard me Guerrilla Busking, you might have heard my track ‘Run Dry’ on Adulthood. Bashy was searching MySpace, found me & loved the track. I was totally flattered for it to make the film!

Savage Fox records’ co-founder Kwame Kwaten says of Kerry Leatham: “I met her one day in Colchester in a strange pub. What was obvious was she really didn’t like talking at all. She was nervous as hell but when I heard her play guitar and sing.. all that nervousness disappeared.. she has ‘it’ (whatever ‘it’ is). A beautiful, intelligent, urban-folk thing. Close your eyes, listen and she takes you there..”

Dear Dad Video Project!

So I want to do this and I need your help:

Dear Dad is a video project that peeks into the lives of your friends, brothers, cousins,
co-workers, sons, fathers, and uncles. We’ll introduce you to SGL (same gender loving) men of
color living in Atlanta. You’ll learn a little bit about who they are, who they love and what they
do. Then, we’ll explore their relationship (good, bad, or indifferent) with their father or father
figure. More specifically we’ll explore their relationship as it relates to their fathers perception of
them as SGL men. This exploration will be done via a letter. They’ll have 1500 words or less to
tell their father whatever it is that they feel they need to. They’ll share the contents of the letter
and after reading they will decide whether or not they want to mail the letter or destroy it.

Old School Jams Live! [if you're in LA]

Photobucket
Press Release:
The Greek Theatre presents Old School Jams Live, a concert featuring legendary hip-hop and R&B stars who pioneered a new style of music in the 1980s. Lisa Lisa, Ready for the World, Klymaxx, Soul Sonic Force, Kurtis Blow, Peanut Butter Wolf and Egyptian Lover are all scheduled to perform.

Originally of Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, the group disbanded in 1991 and Lisa Lisa pursued both solo and acting careers. "I Wonder If I Take You Home" was released in 1985 and was followed by another club hit, "Can You Feel the Beat", which also went to #40 on the R&B chart in late 1985. Their third single, the ballad "All Cried Out", also went gold in 1986.

Ready for the World is an R&B / funk / dance band from Michigan. Their self-titled debut was released in 1985 and included perhaps their best-known hit "Oh Sheila," written about Sheila E., which went to number one on the R&B, Billboard Hot 100, and the Hot Dance Club Play charts that year, becoming the first ever single to hold the number one spot on all three of these charts simultaneously. Other hits include “Tonight,” “Love you down,” “Long Time Comin” AND “Baby Let me Love You.”

Klymaxx is a female Urban/Funk band that made history by becoming the first all-female R&B and pop band in which every female member played an instrument. Their hit singles include “The Men All Pause,” "Meeting in the Ladies Room," and “I Miss You.”

The Soul Sonic Force are an American hip-hop ensemble who helped established hip-hop in the early 1980s with songs such as "Planet Rock". They were also influential in the birth of the electro movement in America and helped pave the way for modern dance music styles such as Techno and House, as well as hip-hop sub-genres such as electro-funk and electro-hop.

Kurtis Blow is one of the first commercially successful rappers and the first to sign with a major label. "The Breaks", a single from his 1980 debut album, is an early hip hop classic. Blow released a few more songs in the mid to late 1980s and made an appearance in the hip-hop film Krush Groove, where he performed “If I Ruled the World,” which was Blow’s biggest hit since his 1980 smash "The Breaks".

Melle Mel is one of the pioneers of old school hip hop as lead rapper & main songwriter for Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five. After Grandmaster Flash left the group, Melle Mel became known as "Grandmaster Melle Mel" and the leader of the Furious Five. In 1982 a song entitled "The Message" became an instant classic and one of the first glimmers of conscientious hip-hop. The group went on to produce the anti-drug song "White Lines (Don't Don't Do It)" (the unofficial music video was directed by then unknown film student Spike Lee).

Egyptian Lover is an American electro musician, vocalist, producer, DJ, and was an important part of the L.A. dance music and rap scene in the early 1980s. He will perform a DJ set.

Peanut Butter Wolf is a DJ, hip-hop producer and the founder of hip-hop label Stones Throw Records. He will perform at VJ set, DJ’ing classic hip hop and R&B hits from the 80s with the matching videos playing simultaneously.

J*Davey; Mama's BACK

I sent @WeAreJDavey a tweet they totally responded. I'm 23 years old and I'm giddy like teenage girl who just saw the cast of high school musical. Anywho, CHECK EM OUT!

Man On The Moon: The End of Day

Before I start I have a caveat/clarification. For the last year or so I've avoided a lot of hip hop records simply because as I get older the more I realize I'm not a huge fan of the genre in general. I've had come up with an operational definition of Hip Hop and I feel the need to compartmentalize different artist and put them in their own separate categories. I put Kid Cudi in my "Alternative Hip-Hop"compartment. So to clarify, I don't like Hip Hop overall, I feel there is a lot more bad than good, HOWEVER, Kid Cudi and other Hip Hop artist like him I appreciate and have nothing but admiration and respect for. Furthermore, since I'm not a fan of Hip Hop I can't (and won't) critique this record in terms of how "hard it goes" etc and so on. This review is all about his ingenuity and creativity as an artist.

This album's concept is based around the tales of young Scott. It's a narrative and it's divided into different acts. You're going to cream your shorts when this drops. Producers: Kid Cudi, Kanye West (exec.) Emile Haynie, Plain Pat (co-exec.) Ratatat, Dot da Genius, Jeff Bhasker, Free School, Crada, Illfonics

Photobucket
Act One: The End of Day
In My Dreams (Cuddler Anthem) – a mellow hip hop lullaby laden with cosmic sfx, strings and affirming lyrics. Near the end of the track Common begins (he narrates the entire record) “...being a leader in this day in age is being a threat not many people stood up against the system we all call life but toward the end of our first ten years in this millennium we heard a voice, a voice who was speaking to us from the underground for some time, a voice who spoke of vulnerabilities and other human emotions and issues never before heard so vividly and honest. This is the story of a young man who not only believed in himself but his dreams too, this is the story of the man on the moon.”

Soundtrack 2 My Life – an autobiographical rap ballad. Cudi emotes and reflects about his insecurities and emotional trauma. My favorite line is "But they all didn't see the little bit of sadness in me *chorus* I've got some issues that nobody can see and all of these emotions are pouring out of me I bring them to the light for you, it's only right, this is the soundtrack to my life, the soundtrack to my life..." This is a goodun'. Great flow. I REALLY like the production!

Simple As – The production is NICE! It reminded me of Gotye. This song is as simple as it sounds. The chorus is catchy. Near the end Common returns and leads us to the next act.

Act Two: Rise of the Night Terrors
Mr Solo Dolo (Nightmare) this one of those goes tracks that goes bump in the night. Cudi sings "Oh Oh Oh why must it feel so wrong when I try and do right, do right?Oh Oh Oh soaring through paradise when I'm closing my eyes ---I'm Mr. Solo Dolo". The lyrics explore loneliness (solo dolo is a eupehemism for a loner). In the end he asks "When will I ever learn from the words in my songs?" This is my kind of record deep and dark.

Heart of a Lion (Kid Cudi Theme Music) this one is upbeat. This track features the signature Cudi cadence that I initially didn't like. The song itself is ultimately an empowerment ballad. Something to wake up to. I like it but I don't love it.

My World (featuring Billy Cravens) Cudi tells some personal stories ranging from having low self esteem as a youth, being awkward with girls, and having shitty jobs. Ultimately beyond the bull he realized that the world is his. I like this one a lot, almost love it.
Photobucket
Act Three: Taking the Trip
Day 'N' Nite The smash hit single! I love this song.

Sky Might Fall
Produced by Kanye this one of the hottest songs on the record. The the production really reminds me of 808's but it has its own distinctions. I think his flow on this one is pretty hot on this one.

Enter Galactic (Love Connection Part I)
Another upbeat track. It's a love song, very danceable and high energy. It's kind of a transition, Cudi is emotional still but it's not sadness. He's intrigued by love. It's an electronica song in essence. I can hear it at the club.

Act Four: Stuck
Alive Ratatat produced this one. "Everytime the moon shines, I become alive." I really dig this song.

Cudi Zone
This song brought me to the realization that Cudi is a art kid at the end of the day. He likes layers, space, weed, a sex. This song is dope.

Maker Her Say (featuring Kanye West & Common – anybody and everybody can find SOMETHING they like about this one. It's like the perfect blend of artist and it's about oral sex. It's the second single, doing well on radio from what I hear. I'd see it live with Kanye, Common and Gaga!

Pursuit of Happiness (Nightmare) (featuring MGMT) my favorite song on this album.my favorite song on this album.my favorite song on this album.my favorite song on this album.my favorite song on this album.my favorite song on this album.my favorite song on this album.my favorite song on this album.my favorite song on this album.my favorite song on this album.my favorite song on this album.my favorite song on this album.my favorite song on this album.

Act Five: A New Beginning
Hyyerr (featuring Chip Tha Ripper)
slow groove that pays homage to his green lover. I don't smoke but if I did I think this would be my rolling song.

Up Up & Away (The Wake and Bake Song) – a guitar driven uplifting song about the joys of life and marijuana. Mind you it's about getting high but he says something that I think is important in the chorus "I'll be up up & away, up up & away cuz they gone judge me anyway, so whatever...I'll be up up & away, up up & away cuz in the end they'll judge me anyway." I agree and I get it.
IT DROPS NEXT WEEK! It's a must have.

GOOD NEWS!

So according to Pitchfork MGMT and Ratatat will appear on long awaited Kid Cudi Album.
I have a huge cheese rat grin on my face. Frankly I'm excited to the point of a a pup tent.

here's what Pitchfork had to say:
Photobucket

So maybe that Jay-Z working with MGMT rumor was actually about Kid Cudi: The track list
for Cudi's debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day, has ben released, and along with
the whole thing being narrated by Common, the album features two tracks produced by Ratatat,
one of which features MGMT.

The album is movie-influenced, and is split into five acts. I'm putting the odds of there being a
clear narrative arc at 14 to 1.

Here's the track list:

Act 1: The End of Day
01 In My Dreams (Cudder Anthem) [produced by Emile]
02 Soundtrack 2 My Life [produced by Emile]
03 Simple As... [produced by Plain Pat]

This is the first time LADY GAGA appears on V MAGAZINE’s cover even though she was in issue #60 with an inside spread. LADY GAGA was photographed by MARIO TESTINO in NYC and wears Marc Jacobs styled by Nicola Formichetti. The magazine is available on newsstands staring today, Sept 1st. It will come in 2 different versions with GAGA “wearing” removable electrostatic blue and pink Marc Jacobs glasses. The interview was conducted by former MTV VJ John Norris and GAGA appears bronzed and gorgeous!

Editor-in-chief STEPHEN GAN quote regarding the new cover: "When the Marc Jacobs pink hooded coat and glasses came down the runway, I knew there was only one person I wanted to see in it: Lady Gaga. Growing up as a kid obsessed with new wave, I would cut up paper sunglasses and put them on to celebs’ faces on magazine covers. These plastic peel on and peel off glasses come in pink and blue and are actually based on the Marc Jacobs ones that came down the runway! There's no other celeb that has done more for the eyewear biz than Gaga. Giving people something tactile and collectible...I feel like a kid again peeling those glasses on and off the V cover."

Universal Motown Records has enlisted the hottest producers in the game to pay homage to Michael Jackson by remixing their favorite tracks from The Jackson 5’s timeless catalog of gems and jams. Akon, Swizz Beatz, Q-Tip, Ryan Leslie, and Rodney Jerkins are just a few of the superstar producers who are featured on MICHAEL JACKSON: THE REMIX SUITE. Boasting more than 20 innovative renditions of popular hits such as “ABC” and “Dancing Machine,” along with obscure classics like “Maria” and “Skywriter,” MICHAEL JACKSON: THE REMIX SUITE I-V will be released in five digital bundles of five songs. The first bundle—featuring Polow Da Don, The Neptunes, Dallas Austin, Salaam Remi, and Stargate—will be available for digital purchase on August 25, followed by a new bundle every two weeks leading up to the physical release of the entire collection on October 27.

“It’s no secret that Michael Jackson’s phenomenal talent inspired countless entertainers,” says Universal Motown President Sylvia Rhone, who spearheaded the making of MICHAEL JACKSON: THE REMIX SUITE I-V. “But his music also inspired many of today’s finest producers. That’s why we thought it would be exciting to invite them to put their own unique spin on his work. From Michael’s amazing vocals to the great melodies, grooves, and arrangements¯the material they had to work with is so incredibly rich. It’s inspiration feeding inspiration and the results are fantastic.”

MICHAEL JACKSON: THE REMIX SUITE I-V is as diverse in sound as its dazzling array of notable producers, which includes Tricky Stewart, DJ Cassidy, Steve Aoki, Frankie Knuckles, and Benny Blanco, among many others. “We jumped at the opportunity to be involved with this project because Michael is a legend who influenced our entire career and redefined the world of music,” says Pharrell Williams from The Neptunes, whose seductive and synthy reworking of “Never Can Say Goodbye” is anchored by an irresistibly heavy bass line. For Salaam Remi’s reggae remix of “ABC,” he “imagined the Jackson’s taking a trip to Jamaica in the early ’70s with a Jamaican band playing behind them.” And for DJ Cassidy’s cheerful rendition of “The Love You Save,” he says his goal was to “unite the sounds of Michael’s work with both The Corporation and Quincy Jones to create something fresh but equally timeless, classic, and inspiring as the original.”

MICHAEL JACKSON: THE REMIX SUITE I-V is not a somber tribute to an iconic legend gone too soon. It is a fun, fresh, and funky testament to the infinite mass appeal of the early works of Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5 that will inspire, uplift, and electrify listeners for generations to come.
