The Way He Sees It.
Raphael Saadiq’s “The Way I See It” is a phenomenal record. His musical prowess is superior—always has been. This album is pure nostalgia. Mind you, I was born in 1986 but I still love the sounds of yesteryear. The song that reigns supreme in my mind is “The Calling”. That track is immaculate. Other definite stand outs are “Oh Girl” –the lead single—“Keep Marchin” & “Let’s Take A Walk.” He incorporates a lot of elements from sixties and seventies music. He may have some sort of make-shift time machine,if so it would explain how he so accurately captured the sounds of those eras. This record is a lot:it’s authentic, it's soulful, and it's classic. I have a special place in my heart for the song "Sometimes." It's a song that talks about life, and every lyric is true. I really felt that song, it was beyond just enjoying the way it sounds. It gave me that feeling I get listening to Sam Cooke or Marvin Gaye. I want you to get this album. I mean it. ALL MY FRIENDS WHO READ THIS WILL LOVE THIS RECORD.
