I went this Friday night with some good buddies of mine. The venue was cool (Eye Drum Gallery) near MLK. We went to support CHASEOLOGY.COM favorite Last Offence. I interviewed him a few months ago, he's cool people----very charismatic and talented. We saw him relaxing before the show and we finally met face to face. He introduced us to his friend and fellow emcee Twizza. We arrived early and we got an opportunity to view some of Katrina Del Mar's independent films before the show, very interesting stuff. The show started around 9:20 pm. There were a lot of great performances. Lasto's set was great! Crazy Energy! He did is song with Twizza and got lots of crowd love. Some of the other standout performances came from Benni E., Kin4Life, and (my favorite) Fiona Simone. When you get the chance go to http://www.tomboyfresh.com. SUPPORT Underground, unsigned, inependent artist!!!!!!!!! Seriously, their shit is amazing! Saturday we went to BBQ with Lasto and Twizza and all I can say is they know how to have a good time. Music producer Danger Mouse is to release a blank CD, after record label EMI reportedly cancelled his new album.
Dark Night Of The Soul, a collaboration with rock group Sparklehorse, also features Iggy Pop and The Flaming Lips, along with artwork by David Lynch.
It has already been streamed online, but Billboard magazine said a "legal dispute" with EMI derailed the project.
Danger Mouse, who is half of pop group Gnarls Barkley, said he hoped people would still get to hear the record.
A spokesperson for the producer said: "Danger Mouse remains hugely proud of Dark Night of the Soul and hopes that people lucky enough to hear the music, by whatever means, are as excited by it as he is."
