Britney performs.
Whoever developed the concept for this and staged it deserves applause.
Britney put on a good show, but she still seems like she's holding back.

Britney's Circus.
Britney's 6th studio album wll be in stores December 2nd. Here are my notes:
Womanizer – My initial reaction to this song was “I don’t get?” I thought the production was flawless but lyrically!? Lyrically, it was too simplistic, the hook was ridiculously repetitive and it irked me. Vocally it was standard. She sounds like Britney and I may be totally alone when I say this but I enjoy her voice. She doesn’t belt but she doesn’t quite croon. Her vocal capacity is limited but what makes her stand out is how she works with it. The video was directed by Joseph Kahn. I thought his vision was sleek and sexy and he executed it with style. Still, it reminded me of “Toxic.”
Circus – Hard beats and thick production give this one club appeal. It’s not my favorite. I don’t hate but I don’t love it. I can listen to it though, it will probably grow on me.
Out From Under – Sure, they are slightly breathy and nasal but I still love Britney ballads. This song sounds (and by sounds I mean the music not the vocals) similar to a Kelly Clarkson. It has Federline undertones.
Kill The Lights – “If ya feeling froggy leap.” Best damn line ever, I never thought I’d hear that in song. This aggressive dance track is one of my favorites. It has that “It’s Britney Bitch” attitude.
Shattered Glass – A high energy dance track that basically says “you cheated on my and karma is gonna kick you in the dick first chance it gets.” This song contains possible Federline undertones, not sure though.
If You Seek Amy – I feel like this song will be hit. It has that “Gimme More” potential but I don’t want it to be. It’s cool, I like the breakdown and that nostalgic “Ohh Baby,Baby” lyrics, but it doesn’t move me. It was produced by Max Martin famed for writing the song that launched her career. I’m torn, it has commercial appeal but there is something about it that I can’t cosign.
Unusual You – I love this one. I have a dope Bjork video concept. It would be insane.
Blur – A splash of hip-hop and R&B breaks the pattern here. This one is a jam. Sounds like the song you play as you clean your apartment after a crazy night. You find clues, cups, napkins, underwear, and earrings but “everything is still a blur.” Danja put his hands on this one.
Mmm Papi – Not a fan.
Mannequin – A burst of electro-dance-shake-pump-jiggle-shimmy-shake. This one’s a hit. A full frontal dance song. No holds barred just pure energy.
Lace & Leather – Funky as fuck. It has a Vanity 6 sex appeal. Favorite line from this album is “French finger tips, red lips, bitch is dangerous. When I listen to this one I see nude women rolling around stacks of melting fluorescent keytars.
My Baby – A slow one dedicated to her little ones. *tear*. I don’t like it but I can appreciate the sentiment behind it. I mean I can’t really relate—I don’t have kids.
Rock Me In – This is another that I’m not too keen on. It’s a little too Euro-Pop for me.
Phonography – About phone sex, “below the waste” pictures, erotic text, and inappropriate antenna placement. It’s a sexy song. Thematically similar to Beyonce’s “Video Phone” but I feel this one captured the sluttacious aura of a naughty cell phone beautifully.
Amnesia – I can dig it.
Radar – I’m not sure why this song was on the album. If I’m not mistaken, it was on Blackout. Am I wrong? Speaking of Blackout, I think I like it better.
This album is one of her better records. I mean I hate several songs, but it’s not because I think they are poorly constructed, they are just not my taste. I think Britney is poised to make an amazing comeback and I hope she finds some peace. I appreciate the variety of producers, writers and inspirations on this record. She worked with old favorites like Bloodshy & Avant, Max Martin, and Danja while spicing it up by throwing in people like Lady Gaga in the mix. It’s a collective effort and a good record. I give it a B.

"you say I'm crazy, I got you're crazy..."

Britney Spears has revived her career. I'm going to go ahead and say it.
She looks great, her single has major buzz, and she's got support from
fans and artist alike. I don't think this is a second coming, but I think
she's gonna get back in her groove as an artist and a person. These are
shots from the set of her soon to be released video "Womanizer".
Her new album is slated to drop in December, I like current sound.
Though it took two weeks for "Womanizer" to grow on me--I can dig it now.
Dance music is her forte, clearly if you don't agree, you haven't heard [Blackout!]
I'm really looking forward to hearing this record.

Britney Spears is my ultimate guilty pleasure.
Through the meltdowns, marriages, harsh criticisms, paparrazi attacks---
shit through hell or high water I'm always down for Ms. Spears...
i love this performance from the fountains, the song, choreography, even
the lip-syncing. It's Britney BITCH.

givvem more.

I love the elephant in the background by the way...
This leaves me with so many questions though...
Will Britney perform? Will it be good?
Will I watch the VMA's this year after I ranted
about how horrible last years show was?
Who the hell is Russell Brand (and who does his hair? i love it!)
MTV VMA's September 7th @ 9:00 p.m.

Hang In There Britney...

Everybody goes through shit, but having CNN covering your private life--thats another level. It's as if her life/reality is the world's "reality tv show" it seems scripted and entertaining and fabricated, but in reality it's not... I think the media is hoping for the worst...I wonder if the "journalist" who are covering this think about the other pressing social issues...Nah, they'd rather sensationalize and exploit celebrities...*yawn* ET, E!, MTV, CNN cover something else please.

Breaking News: Britney Blacksout!

Britney Spears' personal life is... as a friend of mine would say "an utter trash". It seems she's making poor decision after poor decision. Never the less next Tuesday she’s releasing her fifth studio album "Blackout".
When I first heard "Gimme More" I liked it a lot! I was weary about the rest of her album though just because she thoroughly disappointed me at the VMAs. I just happened to go to MTV.com this morning to check out the new Common video (small note of mention---it was directed by actress Kerry Washington---I'm getting sidetracked). I saw a banner add granting access to listen to her full album. I raised my eyebrow and reluctantly proceeded.
The record is the total antithesis of her personal life. This album is a smash. Period. She enlisted some incredible producers and writers. It’s filled to the rim with banging club tracks. The album is undeniably sexy and features her signature “slut puppy” sound. That’s not an insult, she sounds cute and cuddly like puppy while simultaneously exuding the air of a slutatious whore. “Radar”, “Break The Ice”, & “Why Should I Be So Sad” are my top picks. “Why Should I Be So Sad” was produced by Pharrell and the Neptunes and it’s about her relationship with that loser Kevin Federline. I predict it will do well, or at the very least will receive positive reviews.
I hypothesized that this album is good because of her lackluster public appearances, apparent family troubles, and obvious overall turmoil. I mean if we look back to other artists Mary J, Janet, Amy Winehouse —when artist’s have personal lives that are on the brink of self destruction, they put out great fucking albums. “The Velvet Rope” and “Back To Black” are classics. One thing though is that you have to respect artist for who they are. Britney Spears is not a singer (if you think she is, you’re wrong). She (used to be & hopefully still is) a showstopin performer and an international sex symbol—some other great non singers Madonna, Janet Jackson, Rihanna, Ciara. They all hold a prominent place in this industry. I respect the non singers cause they have it harder, they gotta make up for their lip-synched performances with explosive onstage presence and intrigue. Like her or not “Blackout” is a good one. Check it out of MTV.com and or 10/30/07.

VMA 2007
Smoking Gun: Bullets on STYLE
• MTV Correspondent John Norris is approximately 107 years old.
• Lil’ Mama arrived clad in cabbage patch, purple bubble coat with tea-cup bottom—apparently she called it the birth of hip-hop (w/ a pacifier to top it off)
• Alicia Keys stepped fresh off the set of the new Matrix movie.
• Nelly Furtado was a stunning blond coke whore.
• Rihanna super sexy in tight fighting pink number.
• Eve had a bad weave I think but her dress was hot.
• Mary J. was purely hood chic.
• Nicole Scherzinger smoking hot, really great performer (she actually sang and dance)
• Lil Wayne had a nice on liner “can’t pronounce her last name so it should be mine.”
• Common is completely uncommon and looked like Hollywood royalty.
• Shia Lebeouf was stylish and debonair.
• Gym Class Heroes looked the same they stayed true their style
• Jennifer Hudson dress was very flattering but she should’ve gave Kelly Rowland her wig back.
• Ludacris looked like an original gangsta, very trendy suit and his haircut was snazzy.
• Paris Hilton looked like her mom.
• Kanye had the Tux look—it was simple—I guess it worked.
• Neyo looked like the hamburglar/pirate.
• Ceelo wore a tablecloth.
• Beyonce was Helen of Troy with a snatchback [Tacky Tina has struck again]
Smoking Gun: Bullets on THE SHOW
• Britney Spears was an absolute disappointment. I’m not sure what was going on but I could tell she wasn’t feeling it. She didn’t seem to care. She was the worst part of her own performance. I will say her dancers, the pole dancers, lights, and set design were all incredible and this could have been a smash, sadly it wasn’t.
• Sarah Silverman is simply a bitch.
• The rest of the show was a sloppy mess.
• Poor transitions and over too much chaos.
• Chris Brown’s performance was a smash (even though him not attempting to sing was troubling). He did well the only thing I didn’t like was his little MJ bit—I think this obsession with Michael Jackson is over-rated and I’ve seen too many people do that Billie Jean routine.

Cumback?
I won't lie.
I kinda like this song.
Did some digging.
Some new producers spearheaded a lot of this project, there might even be some JT on there.
I conceptualized this superdiduper video for it.
It's a hot track.
it's britney bitch.
