- I'm working on a couple of feature interviews with some up&coming artists so look
out for that in the coming weeks.
- I'm finally rid of my Blackberry Pearl and I've ascended to a new level of
RIM-wonder. I have the Blackberry Curve 8900 from T-Mobile. Words can't express.
The resolution, features, the sleek look. It's sinful.
- I planned on taking my feline friend (Brody Kanye Gnarls Barkley) to live with
is grandmother. A few random acts of god prevented it from happening for a couple days. Then as I was trying to wrangle him into the cage and he went ballistic.
We couldn't get him. He ran under the bed and hid. So I figure I'll continue to try.
I figure he'll slip up sooner or later.
- Work is copacetic. My projects are coming together. Friday I had to go to Athens,GA for a Suicide Prevention Conference. My boss presented and I had a little spiel near the end, it went well.
- I'm applying to grad school for fall (film). I'm working on my reel. My I'm applying to GA State because it's convenient and because I can afford it.
- I've been hanging out a lot. Good times.
- This picture was taken during a recent excursion to Borders (the bookstore, not
P.I. firm) in the Edgewood Shopping District. Andrea (one of my writing partners)
and I went to observe patrons. We were seeking some characterizations to apply
to something we're working on. We got what we needed. I also picked up a new passion
I went to magazine stand and picked up a set of recent spreads. Read the articles &
snapped pictures of the best photos.

To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.
-twloha.com
When my esteemed colleague and writing partner, Andrea, stopped by I asked her about her shirt. I was curious about what it meant. She told me all about this organization and I thought that their mission was amazing.
"The majority of our support comes from T-shirt sales. The shirts themselves are part of our story, as TWLOHA has spread through countless conversations that begin with the question "What does your shirt mean?". Our desire is that people would be informed about the issues so that they would be able to talk about hope and help when people have questions." -twloha.com

I really love this damn song it's pretty unfathomable, like seriously.
It's such a simple, quaint little indie rock song that I jam to often, too often.
I take that back this song is not little, it's so huge to me.

There are some beats that can stand the test of time.
This is definitely one of those classic beats.
There is something mellow/melancholy about it, it speaks to me.
Anytime I hear it I immediately do the "studio bop."
It always make me think of a seeping--but bearable--sadness.
If I'm sad it soothes me, if I'm not, it makes me remember sadness and appreciate joy.
If I were to ever have the opportunity to create a 'life soundtrack' it would be included.
I like both of these tracks because they both put a slightly different spin on it.
check em out.

"Frontin'", is a 2003 song by producer Pharrell. The title refers to putting up a facade (or false 'front'), typically to impress peers. The song features rapper Jay-Z, is written by Pharrell and produced by The Neptunes. At the time he insisted the single was a one-off, and that he was purely a producer and not a rapper/singer in his own right. However, he has since released his own solo album, In My Mind.
"Frontin'" was a big summer hit (the 34th biggest selling single of 2003 in the U.S. according to Billboard magazine), and was featured on the album The Neptunes Present... Clones, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in August 2003.
"Frontin'" was a #5 hit in the U.S. upon its June 2003 release and remains his biggest hit there to date. It also peaked at #1 in the U.S. R&B/Hip Hop and U.S. Rap charts. In the UK the single also charted inside the top 10, peaking at #6 in the UK official singles chart and spending 10 weeks within the top 75. It is Pharrell's biggest hit worldwide as a solo artist (his biggest hit overall being Drop It Like It Hot with Snoop Dogg).
The lead girls in the video are Lanisha Cole and Lauren London.

There is something about The Dream that I love. In terms of lyrical significance he doesn't move me, but his songs always grab my attention--I really dig his style as a producer. Little known fact about Terius Youngdell Nash aka The Dream: he was a member in the Atlanta group Guess Who and they sang the hook to Raheem's song "The Most Beautiful Girl". Anywho, this is his new shit. The video is your standard R&B/Video Vixen pairing. I like the use of color and lighting. The song is catchy. His wardrobe is admirable, I can smell that Thriller-esque chaqueta, it's so fresh.

Ryan Leslie released his first album, Just Right, in 2005. You probably never heard it because it was only released in Europe. That was an arbitrary fact that I thought I's start off with. Now, his Self Titled album due out in the states tomorrow. Ryan Leslie (I got it last week and I've listened to it every morning since then). The album features Leslie singing and rapping. He's a talented wordsmith and his voice is smooth and mellow. The album is really chill and relaxing and you'll get a feel for his signature sound. If your looking for neo-soul, panty dropping r&b, or ghetto love songs this ain't your record. This album is urban contempo r&b with an upscale luxxe feel. The songs sound expensive. When I listen to a lot of the tracks I do the "studio bop". The studio bop is a movement/dance that people do when they are in a recording studio and they are bouncing a song that they think is the shit. I do the studio bop all morning as I get dressed. Not only because the songs are great, but they make you want to move--even if it's just a little bit. Some songs require choreography and preparation to really capture the essence of the track, this record is full of grooves. You can dance to them, but you don't need to, just bob your head and studio bop. If I were ever to record an r&b album I would want it to be produced by Ryan Leslie, Dream, Kanye and Polow. That's my dream team (sidenote: I'd insist on a duet with Prince). Back to this album, the hoodest sounding song is "How It Was Supposed To Be", the most romantic track on this album is "Gibberish", simply because it's a love song with no real lyrics. My favorite track is most of them, honestly I like this record. It's neat.

In light of recent events, I must inform you all that Brody is leaving to live with his Grandmother in Ellenwood. Now don't think the worst. But I noticed that he's not developing into a sociable, self reliant creature. I don't have the schedule nor the linguistic ability to teach him how to be a "man". His twin brother lives in Ellenwood with my mother, they were separated when I adopted him about a year and a half ago. So I've decided to let him go live with his brother. He'll split his time between the comfortable warmth of my mothers basement and the wide open spaces of her estate. There will be plenty of animals for him to kill and mischief to get into. I think during his formative years at least he needs to be with family. So Friday I'm throwing him a farewell event at my apartment at 6pm. If you have a speech you'd like to say please bring it. Thank you all.

I randomly found out that Max from Chester French was married and now I just randomly found out they recently parted ways. Since I posted the initial article I figured I should do a follow up. Seriously, this is how people need to break up. Like adults, ya know. No bad blood.
Their statement:
"After much soul-searching we have made the mutual decision to end our marriage and have agreed to go our separate ways.
"Our parting is amicable and both of us still respect and care about each other immensely.
"There were no other people involved in this decision and we both look forward to a future as good friends."
A spokeswoman for Peaches Geldof said she would continue to split her time between New York and London on various media and fashion projects, while Mr Drummey will be continuing his music with his band Chester French.

Prince's "I Would Die 4 U" is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Prince is the King of POP, period. He's a artist, a recluse, and a musical force.
He has presence and an undeniable allure. This song is a classic.
Raheem Devaughn covered it and I would've said he did a good job until the very end.
He took a sincere gesture of eternal love and attempted to turn it gospel.
Kinda RUINED it for me. I don't like gospel music, at all. Maybe you'll like it, it was lost on me.

Youre just a sinner I am told
Be your fire when youre cold

Make u good when u are bad

I am a dove
Im your conscious
I am love
All I really need is 2 know that
